Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie


This tastes way too close to a chocolate chip mint milk shake! A mint chocolate chip smoothie, with coconut milk and a surprising amount of spinach, yielding an authentic lovely green hue. 



Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie


Serves: 1 (Prep time 5 mins)

Ingredients
  • ¼ cup plain yogurt
  • ¼ cup coconut milk (canned)
  • 1 cup frozen spinach (or 3-4 cups fresh)
  • ½ cup ice cubes (4-5 large cubes)
  • ½ medium banana (or a whole, if you'd like it sweeter!)
  • 1 tablespoon plain whey protein
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon dark chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Add smoothie ingredients (except chocolate chips), liquids first, to a blender. A high speed blender will work best, but try adding a bit of almond milk if using a regular blender and having difficulty getting it going. Blend on high for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Once the spinach and ice are completely blended, the smoothie should look like fluffy like mint ice cream. Taste, and adjust peppermint extract to taste. Add 1 tsp honey if using, and blend until incorporated.
  3. Add chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate, and pulse for 10-20 seconds, leaving the chocolate in small pieces but not completely blended in.

Yes, we did say chocolate. Dark chocolate is very healthy and the other ingredients in this smoothie make it delicious and very effective at burning fat. You will need:
• A scoop of whey protein
• 1000 mg chitosan
• 4 or 5 ice cubes
• ½ of a large banana
• 1 cup water
• ½ cup frozen blueberries
• 1 teaspoon of unsweetened cocoa
• ½ pack of milled flaxseed
Just add the ingredients to your blender and process until you get the consistency that you like.
